Hello, this is Gwenda Folkerts, a born Frisian and bon vivant

As a macro photographer I capture nature with my feelings, paying attention to composition and the beauty of the moment. In the summer I enjoy the beautiful insects in my bee-friendly garden. I like to go into nature to look for insects, smell flowers and feel the energy of nature. Wherever I am at that moment, I like to photograph in peace and quiet and listen to the sounds around me.

When photographing, my passion lies entirely in the present moment and I can thoroughly enjoy the process. My photos evoke emotions, tell stories and capture special moments in a unique and powerful way.

I strive to evoke in the viewer the feeling of the beauty that I express in my photos. “For me, photography isn’t just looking, it’s feeling. If you can’t feel what you’re looking at, others will never feel anything when they look at your photos.” I get excited about my work, and that enthusiasm often translates into beautiful photos.

My motto is:

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving

My photographic language speaks directly to the heart.
